Not everyone famous becomes a legend. But there are some who have left their footprints on the sands of time, deeper than the others. Vince Gironda, Chuck Sipes & Reg Park are such legends. Reg Park is one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time. What’s even more known about Reg, was that he was the role model of another legend, Arnold Schwarzenegger. The best part about Reg was that he was extremely strong. He could bench press 500 pounds, do multiple reps in the squat with 600 pounds, press 300 pounds behind the neck, and do reps in the curl with 230 pounds with very little body movement.
Vince was one of the top coaches in the sport of bodybuilding. He had the reputation of being one of the most knowledgeable and innovative people in the field of bodybuilding, especially in the 60s, which is also called as the Golden Era of bodybuilding. He was said to be self-taught and his methods and ideas were designed through extensive studies in his field of choice, and through experimentation and observation. His superb methods are still being used in the 21st century, and are as valid as they were back then. Chuck Sipes was a name synonymous in the golden era of bodybuilding with Hercules like strength, laser sharp focus and an enormous will to win. Chuck was among the top 100% drug free powerlifters and bodybuilders of all times. He gave many extreme high volume training routines. Some were too hard even for the top athletes to follow. Chuck was not ideally a bodybuilder but a power-builder, a term formed with the combination of powerlifter and bodybuilder.
